Have you seen your roof lately? Take a peek up and check to see what the shingles and soffits are looking like. Shingles need replacing? Soffits filled with leaves and other vegetation? Better grab a ladder and take care of business!
How about those front gardens? Take an afternoon and clean out all the flower beds so they are free from weeds and any debris that has blown in.
Remove unsightly garbage bins. We all have those big City-issued bins, but no one wants to see them hanging out in the driveway. Consider moving them to the garage while your home is for sale.
Walking up to the front door … what will buyers notice? Peeling paint and finger prints all over it? Maybe it’s time for a fresh coat of paint and a good cleaning of the glass. Why stop there though – how about the windows throughout the house? Squeeky clean and shiny windows allow buyers to enjoy the view from inside too!
Which brings us to another item … lighting. All the exterior lights should be in good working order with bright light bulbs. With shorter days ahead, make sure to leave the front lights on for any evening showings so it is easier for the REALTORS and their buyers to navigate entry in to your home.
Steps to a positive showing really do begin at the curb.
